Archer has registered the patent under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). Australia, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Europe and the US are all signatories to it. That means that the rules and terms are the same throughout. So assuming that the European Union was first to examine it on 12 May, then possibly they will be the first to fully approve it in 6 months time (sometime mid-October) and assuming all goes well. Then all others should follow suit. Once a country accepts your application it then makes it easier for it to be granted in all the other countries that are signatories to the treaty, as a lot of the ground work has already been done.
So expect plenty of more news to come on the 12QC and the Biosensor in the next several months. Followed by plenty of bored down ramping 'non-holders' who love an idle but material announcement to poke their ignorance at.
PS. On the ipaustralia website the process in Australia takes about six months. However, it maybe severals years depending on circumstances.
