IMO, I feel they are setting the foundations and preparing the company for the future. Getting the ducks in order and protecting their IP. If you don't and announcements come out that you have not patented then, you are wrapped in legalities to protect your IP, because your patent did not cover that aspect of a treatment. Once PRR IP is protected, they can further leverage off that to get JV and milestone/ongoing royalties to support the development of the "product set".
Even doing the Medical Presentations, provides evidence of what they are doing, it could in course provide the basis of legal protection.
Though I am not a lawyer, though if you show that you are doing something right or wrong that provides evidence.
