Although I don't see the benefit of having data that exceeds 100%, it doesn't state that it's presenting mutually exclusive data. You can be an investor and a designer who owns a toy shop, for example. Maybe it's more Venn diagram than pie chart....
Though I do agree with the purpose of your comment, which is you would intuitively assume it's data presented to represent a discrete breakdown.
