20 years before the last of those subs turn up and probably twice the price. I don't think China will be to worried. They will have more nuke subs than Australia and USA put together by then.
Australia will probably pull out of that new deal as well. A lot of ammunition for opposition parties here if they chose to use it. Keating is already very critical.
It is fair to say Scomo and co have continued to show no consideration to our biggest trading partner.
Jatcorp has made moves to counter these tensions. I hope it is enough.
