It is not lazy, it is honest. If management want to release news when it is ready, and they are in the habit of doing so, then they have my support. There are several implications of this approach, most of which are positive. I dont give a toss what the short term trader wants, or thinks for that matter. Value has been added, announcement made, job done.

But if you want to gripe about it, consider an alternative perspective. That announcement was made on Friday during trading hours. The market was alerted to this fact. That alert has remained the entire weekend, for anyone who cares to look to see. And Im fairly certain the alert will still be there tomorrow. Seems like the alert got maximum exposure, as far as alerts go. A master stroke? Or just playing with a straight bat? Who cares really?
