Eliot, It is definitely not MHC.
He has one holding through his private equity business. The holding has not changed for a long time. If he sells 1 share he has to post a substantial holder change of interest. That also goes for indirect interests that may hold the stock.
I could come up with a list of reasons why nominee entities, other companies, or individuals sell a stock but it would take you hours to read the lengthy list.
You would be surprised how many of the reasons have nothing to do with the companies’ underlying likelihood of success or any relevance to timing around fundamental events.
And Listerine knows what he is talking about on this !
