Successful platforms need to trend and spread with word of mouth and proof of concept. It took Spotify years before it became a world class product and we only released officially half a day ago. It's important to build a base of users to justify the experience first rather than just looking at the $ value (thought as tendiz mentioned, each dollar subscription decreases the dilution in a future raise). Those early users will likely have close relationships with others who are our target market.
