Pfft this twisted web of professional miscreants from the sunshine state who have been backing all of this from the beginning have been running games of this sort or another for decades from what I've concluded at least, maybe generations. People keep going on about the guy who was wearing the pirate hat like he's the person involved but no matter.
ASIC knew about them before they listed all this stuff. Certainly they knew by 2014-15 at a minimum. There are public documents I find quite convincing enough to draw that conclusion. They've just done what they have always done where it's only small investors who are the victims, they just look the other way.
