Long term holders of JRV have been here before.
The company does not resemble its humble former self loated in dowtown cheltenham, Vic. A sleepy town, if ever there was one in the heart of a suburbia.
Many of us made pretty good coin when the price ran from 4c to 60c or so, a few years back.
Then the current crop of know it all management cowboys rode into town and smashed things up.
I have no idea whether this company can return to profit given the massive price manipulation currently coming from the east and the newly found disenchantment of EV buyers is an ever evolving technology. Early EV adopters are starting to wake up, like the PC industry of the 1980's Moore's Law can be a bitch. Battery technology will evolve over time. There is nothing current battery material suppliers can do, but deal with the current technology, even though it is fraught with risk.
Then there's the US and its rarely experienced pain of being left at the starting gate and having to catch up, real fast with a horse that has bolted ahead.
I am down to a single digit average purchase price, having tipped in some pretty big bucks in the 5c, 4c and 3c price range. (Not something I would recommend to anyone other than those that can afford a massive hit). Having repositioned and re-sized my investment, I know sit in wait. I am quite happy to wait 2 or 3 years if I need to, for the business to regain positive cash flow and become a multi bag from here. Or it will go to God.
This is a roll of the dice on a company, an industry and a technology that offers no guarantees. This is the space I like to play in and have done OK in over 40 years.
For context, yes I own LYC at 40c buy price PLS at 30c and PDN at under 20c. Buying and selling each over different decades. Also have a few duds, that burned 100% of capital in the same decades. Swings and roundabouts that can take one's breathe away or one's cash away.
I am hoping we have seen the worst of JRV for this cycle. It is a coin toss.
