Contrary to the popular belief of Labor, JobKeeper is not a "subsidy" for profits. It is a wage subsidy. Statutorily, it must flow through to all eligible employees who wanted to be involved. The subsidy is recognised as income and the wage paid is recognised as an expense. Net profit is zero.
It does, however, improve the cash flow of any company in receipt of JK. Or small business for that matter. The contention being put around by Labor is both disingenuous and false. Firstly, the counterfactual position is that, but for JK, many tens of thousands would have lost their jobs and ended up at Centrelink. Instead, they remained employed and many companies improvised during covid and still managed to make a profit. Brilliant. Productivity and income/gst revenue for the Federal government. Secondly, many companies were deriving profits during parts of the financial periods when there was no JK. Labor doesn't seem to understand fundamental accounting and business. Thirdly, many companies have different profit divisions within the structure. One division may get JK due to the nature of that activity while other divisions may not. However, accounts are on an aggregate basis. Again, Labor doesn't understand this concept.

in summary, JK has got nothing to do with the profit and subsequent dividends paid by PGC.
