In addition most daily/common price gaps are under 1% moves and are filled more often than not , however larger gaps of >5% (commonly due to a change in fundamentals) have been found to fill about 30% of the time.

So certainly no set requirement for BRN to fade into the gap, and in fact it could be supported statistically that it is more probably that it won't fill.

A price gap is certainly something to be aware of and perhaps have caution depending on your investing/trading strategy, however the belief that all gaps fill is just an ignorant misconception at best.
