I suggest you read the following sentence in the latest release, "The collaboration has made excellent progress towards a stable formulation, paving the way for the development of INV104 as a novel non-steroidal anti-inflammatory for use in moderate to severe asthmatics." This doesn't sound like buying a car off the floor to me. Formulation is the key to this drug. It was developed and successful phase II trials carried out by Zeneca twenty years ago. The programme was stopped by the banning of CFCs, which were then used as a propellant. To date no one has been able to develop a successful formulation to administer this drug by inhalation. This is the strength of this announcement. It might also be of interest to know that in the USA forty to fifty thousand people die of asthma each year. This is besides the very much larger group who suffer extreme distress and disability from this condition. Asthma is a serious disease with a substantial unmet need for treatment.
