Bega was not a willing seller, the joint venture partner simply announced one day they were taking up an option to buy Bega's stake. Bega rejected the first offer from the joint venture partner as a low ball offer and it went to arbitration with an independent valuer. Bega seems keen to retain a presence in this space so I suspect they may use at least part of the payout to invest in other plant-based drink opportunities.
