they will return from suspension (and quitely I hope they stay suspended for the next week or so while all this noise plays out).

in fact if the funding arrangements are centred on hedging activities (which they might and should) then the 'talks' on setting a hedged price would be very interesting - interesting indeed.

My bet is that they are securing borrowed money from the states, hedging gold in AUD with some equity raising required to seal the deal. A mix of all three to reduce dillution, borrow a bit from the future and stage capital draw down in tandem with requirements/ need.
