Couldn't agree more. They took away a requirement that the company publish their next quarter expenditure forecast (which they could be held accountable for) to substitute it with a meaning less piece of mental arithmetic with no accountability whatsoever.
This was done on the basis of one (unnamed company) submitting to the ASX review panel to bring it inline with the mining Quarterlies.
I wrote to ASX at the time to request that it be reviewed and of course didn't get a reply. I should have agitated a bit harder but didn't think one little bottom feeder from Retail would really get much traction.
I now extrapolate the last 4 quarterly averages to work out my own forward forecast but of course I can't hold anyone accountable for blow outs other than Microsoft Excel.
A great leap forward for transparency and open accountability in an end of the market where shenanigans are the name of the game.
