Short term action is always driven by sentiment, longer term sentiment in turn is driven by forward outlook. The market in general is a forward looking beast. I believe the change in sentiment today is driven by the recent 3 year outlook given by EVN yesterday.
If there is a nefarious entity driving prices down or up then good luck to them because in a complex system like the stock market no one actor can dominate indefinitely. A big actor can stampede the herd to a cliff but anyone taken in by it has only themselves to blame for their herd behaviour.
