@EarlyRetiree - you make some good points. I'm not yet thinking to exit VG1 since we often outperform the index now. However, I would say it is definitely on my agenda. Where did you read the article about Rob?
At the time of writing, VG1 seems to have had another week of outperformance (about 1.8%) against a range of indexes albeit with an estimated negative return of -0.75%. The past few weeks the shorts plus unknown longs have oscillated between underperforming and outperforming the index so can't really know these until Monday's NTA announcement. My guess is overall flat for this week.
This month, there were some minor changes to the top ten long investments however the June NTA statement publishes the known holdings at 72% but they only add up to 71%. It is probably a fraction-adding issue and has happened on a range of monthly NTA reports.
Qualtrics International was a stock entered into the fund in May 2021 and was dropped in the June 2022 period from the known holdings. If this was truly sold, this is yet another example of VG1 hopping in at the top and getting out at the bottom. See exhibit A below.
