Yes we all are Warren Buffet and have a magic crystal ball that told us that gold was only going to go up.
If gold was 2200 AUD with no hedging you would have a company heavy in debt and struggling to keep the operations going. And you would be screaming, "Why didn't they hedge some of the gold to protect the company?".
A little short term pain to sustain growth sounds good enough to me, and to most holders apparently.
If you think you can do it better, send in your resume.
