Yep, basically none of the mainland Aussie clay "ionic" hopefuls have turned out to be truly ionic unlike China/Brazil where they use low acid PH 4 at room temperature.
Also, considering the massive amount of tonnes to be mined in an ionic operation, to be competitive requires the deposit to start at or close to surface. A quick glance at the "from" depths in the table shows the higher grade intercepts start between 20-50m which is a massive disadvantage in a bulk mining operation due to the higher strip ratio.
Not wishing anyone bad here, but as the saying goes the devil is in the details.
