Flying Gurnard, your post pretty well matches the content of my posting a little earlier than yours. The first few hours of trade on Friday will be interesting in terms of the ex divvie drop and by how much. I don't expect the full 5c drop but you never know, seems pointless to me having such a drop of that size, but anyway who knows. Later on like you I expect the price to recover although not the full 5 cents. Some will take their time to top-up or buy-in as we go forward. I'll try and catch the bottom for a top-up but if I miss its no big deal as the forward expected dividends will still be providing an excellent yield no matter what the price I can top up tomorrow. I like also the unfranked nature of the divvy as looney Labor ( if it wins) can't then plunder my SMSF and rob me of franking credits.
