All waste heat sources have potential to use Kalina to generate more power.While the numbers from Alberta are exciting the real potential win is in the development of a fully modularized system by recognized engineering firms.Kalina has already been used as a primary system in geothermal but the big opportunity is tacking it onto existing plants to get a second hit at the heat before the brine is re-injected. The Alberta opportunity gives Kalina a platform to demonstrate the system as a real competitor to Ormat.We are eighteen months away from that but my main fear is that KPO will get taken out for silly money in the overall context of what it might prove to be worth.!
