In really simple terms, I believe its considered a deleterious substance and therefore contributes to a lower quality of final product. To increase quality may require further processing which would come at a cost and therefore narrow profit margins.
There is a company trying to solve this at scale, (which GXY recently invested directly into) however its in the pilot plant/development stage and I doubt you would see it popping up in the DRC anytime soon...
