ASIC is useless, all they have to do is study LINs trading over the past 6 or so months and see that the brokers have all worked together to make sure every announcement bar one or two have been sold into at all costs... the simple idea that every 20 stocks should have a watchdog employed by the ASX to monitor behavior by brokers and their aligros is all too easy, it can simply be funded by the companies on the ASX within listing fees and such.. its nothing short of pathetic
