Milehigh, I agree with your sentiment to a certain degree that we shouldn't be in this situation.
However, what could the board have done? Sell bilby before results? Sell Proteus before results? I think board has done the right thing. If there is any upside in Proteus or bilby then existing holders will get a share. If they had sold prior the buyer would have got the upside.
Obviously board would have to believe there is more upside then downside.
