And from the consumers point of view...
How big enough of a solar power station (Kilowatts and space) do you need to build to be able to charge a tesla?
Background:
1) most people use their cars for about 2 hours per day....
2) A medium sized 5 passenger EV sedan only needs about 15–20 kW to maintain a speed of 60 mph (100kph) reference
3) a 300Watt panel uses 1.96 sq mtrs
So you probably want about a 50KiloWatt power station! (then you can have 2 Teslas)
which would need about 150 panels and take up about 300 sq meters (about 1 third of a suburban block)
and that power station costs currently about $55,000.00 dollars plus installation (which is less than the current cost of a Tesla)
Bonus: You can now run a super electric house ( You can afford to run a teenage daughter with a hair dryer)
as the "house" only needs about 1.2 KiloWatts out of your 50 KiloWatts.
Bonus: You save nearly $60,000.00 on Domestic elecrticity (over 30 years of panel life)
Bonus: You dont spent about $45,000.00 (based on 30years) on diesel for your (ICE) crappy technology.
