Reading both of those anns they do both state that coated was used, so yes there is an issue with consistency as expected from the small scale test work. Its like a diamond miner finding a few world class stones but not proving up a commercial resource - the scale must fit and results must be repeatable and on a commercial scale. The second ann also deliberately doesn't say if thermal purification was required which tends to imply it was.
