"KDR gets 146m now plus SQM then pay half of all future costs"

That's not how I read it:

"SQM will make payments of US$110 million (A$146.67 million1); comprising a cash payment of US$30 million (A$40 million) to Kidman, and a staged payment of US$80 million (A$106.67 million) to fund the initial costs of the development"

Looks like $106m of the $146m is SQM paying for the initial costs of development. Once the initial $106m is used, then it's 50:50 for remaining costs.

But I could be wrong.
