From what I have read so far, I believe that MTR are just opportunists and have no experience in running a mine and have no idea of the political intricacies in Thailand.
I worked there in an international company for 5 years from 1996 and do have some idea of the country and its operation.
Their approach to the upcoming meeting I believe is rather subversive in the way it has been handled.
