First, the market is not impersonal, behind it there are persons (family offices, brockers, Hedge funds etc.).
Secondly, these persons have no crystal ball.
Thirdly, what do they have then? ... Yes, you got it, they have insider knowledge.
So the boss playing his game sent the SP from 82 to 50c within a few Trading days.
1 day before the news it suddently recovers 13%. Why? could you explain it?
And when the good news arrive the day ends in the red!
