In 2021 we imported 65,000 tons .
Readily available.
Even if the WA projects went ahead , we would still be cheaper to import from overseas by ship than by land to NSW and Vic.
It is not that big an industry worldwide.
SOP , total production by value, would be lucky to equal a months worth of iron ore by bhp.
It not going ahead is a blip only , the major pain is for those who invested in it hoping to make lots of money.
if the private sector cant find 20million , why should the public sector?
But hey , that's capitalism , although from the look of this thread there seems a rapid shift to socialism happening.
