the way i read the prospectus was that he was prepared to take up his entitlement, or effectively underwrite to that amount, while an external underwriter would take care of the remainder...an arrangement that couldn't fail in theory...but it did fail, so did someone fail to live up to promises, one of, or both of the underwriters?, we'll never know.
not passing blame onto anyone, m r does most of the heavy lifting and is probably used to the occasional chiropractic bills.
