Briscoe, which has also just flagged a healthy first half result, holds 20 per cent of Kathmandu and Duke said he had not given up.
"There's not a lot I can do right now because those people who hold the shares want to sit down and wait and see what happens over the next year or two - see whether Kathmandu can recover some of the enormous ground that they've lost in the last year or two.
"I can't move beyond the 20 per cent that I own, but I'm lucky enough they're paying me some dividends."
