And for some more food for thought, here's some info on the quantity of nickel required for those wind turbines that Sky News seems to dislike so much. It's A LOT OF NICKEL. Especially for offshore turbines.

"In each wind turbine, about 2,000 kgs of nickel are used. Applications relying on nickel in the nacelle area include bearings, shafts, gears and hydraulic components, and in other areas for fasteners, control cabinet housings and many other components."

NOTE: This is for a 3MW onshore turbine. Much more is needed for offshore turbines, in all the fixtures, floats or foundations, etc, due to corrosive nature of seawater.

Then we add stainless steel (in structures) and nickel alloy demand from wave and tidal power, nuclear, solar PV (frames), solar thermal, geothermal...

And we're going to need a vast amount more nickel, for a lot more than just batteries.
