My honest opinion is that it's largely due to pack mentality, which usually starts when some big d*** swinger starts buying up on the market and people get wind of it. What's interesting about this stock is the resource has already been established, so you're waiting for the market to turn; the alternative (more risky) play is after the market has turned, then punting on an exploration company to find something.
