Yes, it's good to have more than 1 iron in the fire. You never know what you might find when you drill some of these unexplored/under explored areas.
Look at Chalice for example. They were focused on Victorian gold, until they discovered Julimar. Now, that is their main focus, and the Victorian gold prospects were spun out into Falcon Metals.
Going the other way is Alkane. Their main focus was rare earth metals at Dubbo. They decided to spin this out to Australia Strategic Materials. Alkane kept all of the gold properties, which is now their sole focus.
Australia is a huge country with many mineral resource areas yet to be discovered.
In my opinion, that is why you bet on management who has done it before
