The delay in the lab could be pushing assay turnaround time back to 5 or even 6 weeks. It also probably takes about a week to ship the samples to the lab. So if an assay was received by the lab in the first week of August, its conceivable that NVA didn't get results till mid September.
After that, the data had to be sent off to consultants to conduct the estimation. An estimation using the methodologies they used could easily take 2-3 weeks, +/-.
I think a bit more transparency from NVA would have been nice. I suppose maybe that is disappointing. However, you have to see it from their perspective, imagine what all the trolls would be saying here if they kept announcing further delays??
