From what I have researched The US is 50 percent Nuclear Energy.
For the Arctic region SMR are a reliable and safe form of energy.
All waste is an issue.
I do believe that the US has about 90 plus commercial reactors cuddle toy operating in various States.
So whatever Biden says about REEs Uranium will still be part of the mix.
Not forgetting Russia in the Arctic and Canada.
Without talking elsewhere.
