The young minerals - resources minister is very much in favor and vocal of such - recent media articles.
As one past minerals minister said - we can choose to miss this opportunity and stay in the dark ages and Narsaq will fade away as it is now.

No guarantees at this point however appears more likely than unlikely. The company has worked diligently for many years with the same govt all be it different people now but same govt. The has engaged top local personnel - some ex govt that have been extremely valuable appointments to get this up.

The Chinese thing is of no concern - it simply would not pass share holders approval or ASIC - Australian govt approvals or Greenland/Danish govt approval - it's the uranium/thorium that is the issue and that has been addressed by removal of uranium ban from Danish govt some 6 years ago and a very strict - regulated EIA/SIA approval framework that will now be presented in public hearings. Of course there will be opposition from some for which the company will expect and the company will address their collective concerns in a white paper submission post the middle of March 2021 when the PC concludes - which really should be already addressed in the EIA/SIA submission but they will dig and find something even if only to delay for a short time. Those opposing have known these "public consultations" were imminent and now they are already complaining of the timing - no grounds at all - the PC is already extended by 2 weeks for covid reasons and the 5 nearby communities will all host a PC and an opportunity to view their concerns.
