Even if it is bad, holding it back doesn't engender any hope or interest for future shareholders.
Something for me to look at - has the company listed a value on the books?
If so, they would be materially deceiving shareholders and the market by not updating their accounts.
If not valued, or it's no good, it'll eventually be sold with little to no change in market capitalisation, so why hold it back?
Some people take responsibility and admit things if they're wrong. Some people stuff their mouths with other peoples' money and try to talk through their a**ses!
