I would politely disagree as I have rarely seen a consolidation work positively.
Thry mask poor performance and generally suck in new players who don't do research.
I know that North American investors like a low share count, so that is a reason why some companies do a share consolidation. If they are trying to impress those investors, not having a high share count helps.
