and you’re also asking “Shareholders don't like it? Would they prefer the business just close up shop?”

Let me get this right , you’re OK for management to bankrupt a company and you don’t care if the shareholders end up with nothing if a restructure is required to save the company.

As a shareholder, I’d just prefer management to competently grow the company, so that my capital is preserved and a return on investment is provided.

You have an interesting investment style.
