IMHO:

Here’s a guesstimate of scale required to achieve DFS 25.5ktpa target.

Assume that they mean a Lithium Chloride solution containing 1900 and 3800 mg/L of Lithium.

Average say 2850 mg/L

20,000L of LiCl solution between 1900 and 3800 mg/L Li in 600 hours.

20000 x 2850 mg = 57000000mg Li in 600 hours

57 kg Li in 600 hours.

57 x 24 x 365 / 600 = 832 kg /year of Li (0.832 tpa)

LCE = 5.323 x 0.832 = 4.429 tpa LCE

25500/4.429 = 5757 demo plants of DLE equipment needed for 25.5 ktpa of LCE.

Having made that guesstimate, I have difficulty interpreting the “The Demonstration Plant has now produced more than 15% of the total Demonstration Plant forecast output in the short period” with “Demonstration plant operating continuously at 90 percent of steady state, over 600 hours to date, toward the 1,000-hour requirement”

15% in 600 hours for total of 1000 hours. 25% in 1000 hours?

Perhaps then 15% output in 600 hours means 100% output is in 4000 hours.

Hours per year is approx 8760.

90% of 8760 = 7884 hours.

4000/7884 =0.51

Are they running only day shifts?
If they are, but can run a full day then 5757/2 = 2878.5 demo plants DLE equipment needed for 25.5 ktpa LCE.

This excludes losses in processing the LiCl solution to Lithium Carbonate.
