you can't make a blanket statement like that - relativity needs to be taken into account. 4% on 80c <> 4% on a $100 stock. people would be panicking to see $4 get ripped out of RIO in a day, but at the other end of the spectrum, XTC (which is a Neighbour to Lake) the swings are 15% for a single point shift of the share price. it doesn't mean the sky is falling though like you seem to want to indicate applies to all stocks.
