Heapleaching has been trialled there, though biox is another possibility as recent breakthroughs make it possible for iron content deposits.
Biox wouldn’t require huge amounts of sulphuric acid and might be an opportunity to improve recoveries of gold and silver.
Unfortunately block caving wasn’t around when OD was developed and it makes sense for large operations where costs and maintaining high volumes is important.
