In any event, can you imagine being a US utility dealing with and relying on the likes of a Russian company for your Nuclear Power station lol! Can understand why they're looking to there own back yard and places like OZ for supply.


As for the halting of #Uranium exports to the US by #Russia's Rosatom, here's my take: Rosatom announced this morning that Russia had halted #Nuclear fuel exports to the US due to a lack of shipping insurance, which has happened before back in July.✖️The media turned that into a ban on uranium exports to the US, which it wasn't!Rosatom deleted the original post due to the misinterpretation by the media.✖️Rosatom then went on to deny that it was halting shipments to the US, saying that it will fulfill its contract obligations, but DID NOT DENY that it can't ship uranium out of St. Petersburg due to insurance issues.⚠️ Rosatom is saying that it will find other means to ensure deliveries are made to the US.It was recently reported by RBC that Rosatom was seeking to Buy uranium in the western market, something never seen before. This is likely Rosatom's fallback action plan to purchase lbs of uranium held at Converdyn site in the US that could then be delivered to Centrus to fulfill its contract obligations, if they can find a willing seller. This has put even more strain on western uranium supply️ that pushed Spot price to new 15-year highs today.Bottom line, imho: as originally reported, no ship is able to carry uranium to the US from Russia.✖️ But, Rosatom is working on alternative means to make delivery in order to fulfill its contract obligations, highlighting just how precarious the situation has become.
