The debt holders will be thrilled - more cash to sweep. Unless AGO burns it propping up more stranded low grade iron ore mines then the debt holders really will have cause to call it in.
Now we in the west have to pay an extra hundred bucks on our vehicle rego because there is less revenue coming in from things like the port that Atlas now uses - fees waived. We just love propping up the WA club members.
Wait for tomorrow's nut hugging newspaper - "AGO board saves the day blah blah what a bunch of driven fair dinkum blokes"
Might even get another award at Diggers and Dealers this year, despite the legacy of poor cost management where shareholders funds went into propping up obscene contractor margins.
Isn't it great that a bunch of young entrepreneurial types are able to blow a billion bucks of value as they learn the ropes of business management. "Just having a go" yeah good on ya. How about they "just go" and allow some responsible decisions to be made by people whose vision goes beyond slogans and inches of newspaper coverage.
