"This start up has nothing to do with LieNA anyway, but Envirostream is up and running and producing MMD"

    I disagree rokkett.

Envirostream is a low-tech battery recycler that was formed out of the Metal chop shop PF Metals in Cambellfield, Victoria. The process is low tech. It involves a hand-sort, followed by a shred then burn to produce dust which they export to Korea. It is a low value add process, and is low tech (hand sort, burning).

LieNa is an alkaline based process that is "based on nickel refining". Very little details have been published about LieNa, however, if you read the patents, it uses large amounts of Sodium Hydroxide and produces no by products. Lithium Australia have in the past plugged the fact that they have produced lithium chemicals from MMD.

This new process effectively combines LieNa (Alkaline leach) + Envirostream (battery recycling) to produce lithium chemicals. The recovery of the lithium is high (circa 95%) and eliminates the need to shred and then burn the batteries. How much CO2 is released into the atmosphere from the gas powered Enviroscream furnace?

In addition, the process is receiving more backing than LieNa ever did. LieNa is now 6+ years old, and there is still no pilot. This new mob is already piloting.

It does not bode well for Lithium Australia !
