To be honest I'm not sure if it's possible / viable to use it in the battery world. What typically happens is that it's sold off as round grit, which could add $20-30/tn additional revenue.
That number's come from a distant memory, so worth checking - but it's definitely a use for the waste salts, and in Europe in particular it will be used. Again, the proximity of mine-to-use is a benefit here
