Ah yeah sorry hongkie I was probably not explaining it clearly. This is my take on the geology.
So briefly the rock there is called the Mallina sediment. Its very hard due to silica and pretty thick at 1.5 to 4 km thick.
About 50 million years later these intrusions ( hot melted rock) made there way upwards along suitable pathways.
As they rose the fluid pressure of the intrusion caused fractures in the surrounding Mallina sediment rock, some of these fractures were probably pre existing.
As the intrusions cooled, it started to crystallise and harden forcing the less viscous fluid from the intrusion containing the sulphide minerals including the gold ( which doesn’t crystallise easily ) into zones around the intrusion and outwards at right angles into fractures and further. Here the sulphides precipitate out of solution including the gold.
At points different reactions occur meaning higher grades.
So my take is that the gold mineralization originates from the intrusion.
Of course it’s possible the gold sulphide mineralisation imprinted later over the intrusion but I can’t see the evidence for that in the DEG reports, and I don’t think so for other reasons.
These intrusions maybe started as one single mass very deep ( 50 km or so) but as it rose up most likely separated into plumes, which can be virtually anywhere in this zone.So some will be identified and some will be trapped deeper, some migrate into the shear zones etc.
In my belief it’s a multi phased story with different timing, folding, deformation events which are a bit long winded so I won’t go there, but all add up to a big story which give DEG so many discovery options.
