Bit confused by your statement there @mel7691. If you're not a trader (and even then you have to satisfy the ATO’s definition of being a share trader) then it's not income, it's a capital gain (though that becomes part of your overall taxable income!!). Maybe I'm getting mixed up myself with wages and income!!
